When my family would go skiing when I was a kid, I distinctly remember my dad pulling this camera out of the front inside pocket of his ski jacket. I was always so impressed a camera could be that small.
Many years later he gifted me this camera, after hunting one down on eBay. Turns out I love it.
It really fits my shooting style. I love how discrete it is, I love having it in my pocket. I love the manual focus (relying only on having distance measurement on the lens, no focusing element in the viewfinder).
It's a joy to use. After I used this camera for a while, I got really interested in this type of camera and ended up buying two more. Primarily because this particular camera doesn't work well with many film types. Only Kodak Gold will go through this thing without getting messed up. The lever for the film advance is very small and painful to use.
The GT model has a much easier to use lever, but does not look as cool and minimal as this EL.
